Dr. Doug Hentrich

Dr. Doug Hentrich was born in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up there and even attended the University of Dayton. Despite wanting to be a veterinarian since he was young, he earned a Pre-Medicine degree. Apparently Pre-Veterinary degrees didn’t exist at that point! After finishing his time as an undergraduate, he attended The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated and moved to Virginia Beach in 1992, when he started his veterinary career at AMC. Dr. Hentrich is now happily married with beautiful twin daughters. During his off time, Dr. Hentrich enjoys fishing, boating, traveling, and sporting events. He tries to attend as many Ohio State games as possible. Dr. Hentrich enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but especially loves working with large and working dogs.

Dr. Robin Davis

Dr. Robin Davis was born & raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. From a very young age, she knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for undergraduate studies, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and worked at the Cincinnati Zoo during her summer vacations. After taking a year off to work in veterinary hospitals, she attended The Ohio State University for veterinary school. Wanting to return to a warmer, coastal climate, she started at Animal Medical Center in June of 1989. Outside of work, Dr. Davis enjoys the beach, exploring Seashore State Park, biking, walking and spending time with friends. At work, she enjoys seeing cats, dogs, rodents, and helps with wildlife rehabilitation.

Dr. Patrick Soles

Dr. Patrick Soles was born in Whiteville, North Carolina. He spent most of his time in Raleigh, North Carolina, even staying there to attend North Carolina State University. He received his Bachelors of Science in Zoology. He stayed at North Carolina State University and attended their vet school. After graduation in 1988, Dr. Soles moved to Virginia Beach and started work at Animal Medical Center. Outside of work, Dr. Soles spends his time restoring antique trucks, doing construction work, and playing beach volleyball. At the office, Dr. Soles takes a special interest in the ophthalmology cases seen at the office.

Dr. Ashley Powell

Dr. Ashley Powell was born in Norfolk, Virginia. When she was in the fourth grade, her mother allowed her to skip class to watch the local veterinarian pull two of her pony’s teeth. That was the day she decided that she wanted to become a veterinarian. After graduating from Norfolk Academy, she attended Virginia Tech and earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She stayed in Blacksburg to attend Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Powell worked as an assistant at AMC during her summers off and was asked to rejoin the family as a veterinarian after graduation. While away from work, Dr. Powell enjoys riding horses, traveling, spending time with her dogs, and brewing beer with her husband. Dr. Powell’s special interests include surgery, wound management, and giant breed dogs.

Dr. Katherine Jones

Dr. Katherine Jones was born in Washington, DC. She grew up in Sterling, VA with her younger brother, Gregg. Dr. Jones attended Virginia Tech for eight years, first earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences before attending the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She worked as an associate at a rural practice in North Carolina. Wishing to be closer to family and friends, Dr. Jones was recruited to join the team at Animal Medical Center. Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys traveling, cycling, cooking, and spending time with family. She has always had an interest in working dogs, especially search and rescue. Other areas of interest include sports medicine and rehabilitation. She hopes to continue her education in those fields in the next few years.

Dr. Beth Carter

Dr. Beth Carter was born and raised in Evans, Georgia. She attended the University of Georgia for both her undergraduate degree and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She moved to Va. Beach to start her career at Animal Medical Center. Dr. Carter has always had a strong interest in medicine because her father is an orthopedic surgeon. It wasn’t until college that she realized she wanted to be a veterinarian. She especially loves large breed dogs. Her interests include traveling, hiking, skiing, drinking wine, baking, reading and spending time with family. She has traveled to all 7 continents with her family . She attends Grace bible church. Dr. Carter love exploring Va. Beach and is thrilled to be part of the AMC family.

Dr. Mike Robison

Dr. Mike Robison was born in Providence, Rhode Island and grew up in White Plains, NY. He attended Indiana University, where he received his B.S. degree in Biology. After graduation, Dr. Robison Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he received a Masters degree in Animal Population Ecology. Moving to Columbus, Ohio Dr. Robison worked at the Columbus Zoo prior to being accepted into The Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He practiced his first year at a mixed animal practice in Virginia before devoting all of his time to small animals. Dr. Robison owned his own solo practice for nearly twenty years in Portage, Michigan before he and his wife returned to Virginia In 2006. Since 2009, he has reconnected with his classmates, The Adairs, and works part time at Animal Medical Center and Bayside Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Robison is married and has one son that lives in California. Away from the office, he enjoys photography, fishing, and spending time with his family.
